The victim of a robbery was left with the burglar’s prescription medication and his cell phone, only to get a call from an enraged wife wanting to know the location of her absent criminal husband.
43-year-old Lloyd Shaw was stunned after he disturbed two men breaking into a friend’s car at around 9 pm on Friday evening in Auckland, New Zealand. After the two fled, Shaw found a duffel bag containing one of the crooks’ cell phone.
“I heard this voice coming from inside the bag,” Shaw said. “So I picked up the phone and it was the burglar’s wife. She was like, ‘Who’s this?’ I said, ‘I’m not going to tell you who it is. Who are you?’ She goes ‘I’m Lisa, the wife of the guy who owns the cell phone’. I said, ‘Describe him to me’.”
The woman’s description matched one of the two men who Shaw had witnessed running away from the vehicle. Shaw said the woman was not impressed when she discovered what her erstwhile husband had been up getting up to in her absence, saying that she had not seen him since early in the afternoon and had no idea where he was or what he had been doing. “Well it looks like he’s out on the town… And the guy is just not that smart either,” Shaw replied.
